Help Ahimsa House by Volunteering at East Lake PGA

Serving the animal and human victims of domestic violence in Georgia

Every year Ahimsa House is lucky to be chosen to operate the largest concessions tent at the East Lake PGA TOUR Championship and in return, receive a portion of the profits; these funds go toward caring for animal victims of domestic violence while their owners transition to safety.
This year's tournament runs from Wednesday, September 20th to Sunday, September 24th at the East Lake Golf Club. Each day there is a morning and an afternoon shift, which need anywhere from 15 to 50 volunteers depending on the day. Volunteers help with tasks such as working the register, preparing food, and running food/drinks, and are invited to stay and watch the tournament for free before or after their shift.
We would greatly appreciate if you, your family, friends, colleagues, or groups of any sort would consider joining us for this fun and rewarding opportunity. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer alone but high-school aged individuals may volunteer with an adult present.
Ahimsa House relies on this and other fundraisers to be able to help victims of domestic violence and their pets reach safety from their abusive homes together. We offer our services, including 60 days of temporary care and housing for pets, free of charge to their owners while they escape to safety. Ahimsa House gets paid for each volunteer that completes a shift at our tent at PGA, making this one of our biggest and most important fundraisers of the year.
Please use this page to get more information and to sign up for a shift (or more if you'd like!). We will be in touch closer to the tournament with more details on parking, attire, and check-in. If you have any questions before then, would like to sign up a large group, or need to change your shift, please email Samantha Altfest at [email protected].
Thank you!

What is Ahimsa House?

Ahimsa House assists victims of domestic violence with pets, each year helps staff the PGA tournament and are currently looking for individuals that might be interested. Below is more information on the event, including the link to sign up. We rely heavily on volunteers to serve the animal and human victims of domestic violence in Georgia and regularly can use volunteers outside of special events such as this one as well to do things like staff outreach events, transport pets, and staff our 24 hour emergency crisis line.
