How can you help?
We are looking for any performers who are willing to donate their time to our event. Fire breathers, fire spinners, flow artists, contortionists, strong man, dancing bear, fortune teller, tarot card reader, belly dancer, etc. We are also looking for bands anything from steampunk to bluegrass, rockabilly to country. Sorry we love clowns, but have opted to not include any in our program. Mimes are welcome.
Our tentative schedule for the night looks like this:
- 7pm VIP with band - 40 minutes.
- 7:40pm the kick- off of circus performers each performing for 3-5 minutes each
- 8pm General Admission allowed to enter. At that point the performers will then rotate out in 30 minute segments (possibly 1-2 at a time around the venue).
- 8-9 rotation of performers (15 - 30 minute sets)
- 9-9:30 band plays set
- 9-10:15 rotation of performers (15 - 30 minute sets)
- 10:15-10:30 announce raffle winners
- 10:30-10:50 finale of performers (5-7 minutes each)
What's the plan?
The date is Saturday October 21. Location is Flat Shoals Farm, Flat Shoals and Ormewood Avenue.
$50.00. Package includes three drinks, beer, wine, or cocktail, and unlimited food. Entry at 8 p.m. Music, Vintage Circus Performance, and more.
$100. Package includes unlimited drinks, VIP reception, exclusive music entertainment, VIP Vintage Circus Performance, and more.
The goal is for 200-250 attendees and to raise $25,000 total in sponsorship and ticket sales.

What is Neighbor in Need?
Neighbor in Need East Atlanta, which is a 501(c)(3) under the East Atlanta Community Association (EACA) umbrella. Our mission is to provide emergency home repairs for low income seniors in East Atlanta. We do about 50 projects annually with total average spend of $25,000 per. Since our inception in 2010, Neighbor in Need has completed over 140 projects spending over $135,000.

Meet your neighbors, have fun, and give back to your neighborhood - just a few of the reasons to volunteer at the Strut this year. Volunteers get a free Strut t-shirt & 2 soft drink or alcoholic beverage tickets and also be entered to win awesome prizes.

Keep your Independence Day celebration close to home. The East Atlanta Strut is bringing a professional fireworks show to the village on the Fourth of July at 9:30 p.m. There will be a viewing area set up on Glenwood Avenue in front of Holy Taco, 1314 Glenwood.
Mayhem on Milton Place has a new date - Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 2 pm to 8 pm! Come meet your neighbors, bring some food for the potluck, and enjoy the unique culture of East Atlanta.
NPU-W unanimously passed two resolutions concerning the proposal to exchange about 50 acres of Entrenchment Creek Greenspace for privately owned, partially cleared land. These resolutions outline the community's concerns and contain links to the deeds and documents cited. EACA members are encouraged to make their opinions about this proposal known to our DeKalb County Commissioners.
EACA's Land Use and Zoning Committee is hosting an information session about the Bouldercrest Triangle historic small business district - current status and proposed zoning changes. Please RSVP.
EACA's Transportation Committee will be meeting soon after a lengthy hiatus, and we need you! Are you concerned about pedestrian safety? More and better bike lanes? Do you have ideas about upcoming road projects in East Atlanta? Do you want those metal plates paved over? Together, we are more effective advocates. East Atlanta Security Patrol (EASP) is increasing patrols in East Atlanta for the summer months and would like to extend a special offer to new members. Join before May 24 and your membership will begin in time for extra patrols during the Memorial Day holiday. That’s over 1 month of free membership! EASP employs off-duty Zone Six police officers to perform additional patrols within the East Atlanta community. All patrol officers are armed, in uniform, with full arrest powers.

Neighbor in Need is partnering with ASW Distillery for our first Whiskey Giveback event hosted on April 18th where a percentage of all alcohol and ASW product sales will be donated to Neighbor in Need East Atlanta! EACA is excited to host another fun meet & greet at the Burgess-Peterson Academy’s orchard birthday party taking place this Friday, April 12. The Georgia Organics event officially at 3:30pm with a free fruit tree class led by Ranger Robby. EACA will be providing free mocktails using herbs grown in the BPA Garden for a 5 pm to 7 pm ‘happy hour’ and there will be activities for all age levels; including a mural painting and seed-bomb making for the kiddos, a community potluck, and of course, birthday cake.
Hop into the Spring season with the annual East Atlanta Easter Egg Hunt & Festival hosted by East Atlanta Kids Club on Saturday, April 13 from 10am - 12:30pm at Brownwood Park. This is a fun community-wide event for kids of all ages with the egg hunt, egg decorating, crafts, games, and lots of sweet treats! Many ways to help, either as a volunteer or make a monetary donation.
East Atlanta Kids Club is offering a Sci-Tech Fun & Fitness Camp at Brownwood Park in East Atlanta which offers hands-on activities including science experiments, technology and robotics, arts and crafts, music and beat making, and cooking and healthy eating to campers aged 7 to 14. The Midway Pub is hosting a fundraising event for employee Taylor Corley on April 6. They are raising money to help with Taylor’s living expenses and medical bills while she is recovering from a motorcycle accident. All are welcome.
East Atlanta Strut has donated $40,000 to more than 40 worthy causes in the East Atlanta community through its Neighborhood Good Grant program. With funds going to early childhood organizations, elementary schools, high schools, senior citizen groups and a historic cemetery, the Strut is quite literally supporting East Atlanta residents from the cradle to the grave.
